This tall Walnut Corner Cabinet
is the result of a fortuitous
discovery of walnut trees that had been felled on a plantation once
belonging to David Rogerson Williams, the governor of South Carolina from
1814-1816.
The rare and
exceptionally wide boards allow the cabinet to feature bookmatched panels,
door rails, stiles, and casework. The interior is crafted from another
serendipitous find of wide cypress boards from the South Carolina coast.
Finishing consists
of Waterlox and paste wood filler, enhancing the natural walnut figuring.
